PassiveProductive was founded in October 2012 under the name ‘Minimalblog’ thanks to Pat Flynn’s Niche Site Duel 1.0.
Soon after, in January – I rebranded the blog as I found there wasn’t too much to write about minimalism, ironically. I’d always been interested in being more productive, so I decided to take it in a new direction. Besides, most of my posts were about productivity already.
I enjoyed writing about productivity, for some reason it appealed to me (and it still does). Some of my proudest moments were guest posting on PickTheBrain, and being one of the winners for the ProBlogger group writing project.
I know this must come as a little bit of a shock. If you’re subscribed to my newsletter then you’ll already know about this.
I’m ‘quitting’ PassiveProductive. There’s no better word for it, that’s what I’m doing. Realize that this isn’t an easy decision for me, I’ve built so many relationships and also an awesome community which causes me to feel like a physical part of me is leaving.
So why am I doing it?
PassiveProductive was an experiment, a learning process, a tool, and an outlet. I’ve always been huge on passion, I believe each and every single person should follow what they’re passionate about NO MATTER WHAT.
I’m passionate about music.
And for too long, I’d put that off. I told myself that I could just run a blog or two, and produce music on the side. But you can’t keep the jack in the box for too long, it has to come out.
What’s the plan now?
I’m going to start up an electronic music production blog, whilst producing music under the alias of Khazm. I’ll also be creating a few more courses related to music like I did with my last one.
I know it’s not going to be easy, it’s not supposed to be. Making it ‘big’ in the music industry is laughed at by many. Here’s a quote that gave me the final push:
Being realistic is the most commonly travelled road to mediocrity. – Will Smith
I will achieve this, even if I have to drag myself through the worst of worst. Whenever you’re scared of doing something you love – remember that quote.
And finally, Thank YOU.
If it wasn’t for all of you readers, PassiveProductive wouldn’t have got to where it is now. I know that it’s not a huge blog, it’s nowhere near the level of Smart Passive Income or ThinkTraffic – that was never the point. I’ve made some great friendships through blogging, and they’ll live on.
For each and every single one of you who read a post, commented on a post, subbed to the newsletter – THANK YOU. It means a hell of a lot.
If you’d like to contact me personally, or have any questions – please don’t hesitate! My email is [email protected]
Here’s a final goodbye. Remember to be prolific and productive.
